Causeway Bay Dessert House

Do they look nice? The first one is a so called carrot cake. It was grossssss!! All it tasted like was mashed flour.. hence, we told the waitress that it was really bad so in exchange, she gave us this strawberry custard with flakey pastry. The custard, let me tell you, it taste like rubber and by using a fork, you can lift up the slice of custard play doh off... so all i ate were the strawberries & the flakey pastry. I dont know how the middle one tasted.. but the ice cream was nice. The waffle was too thick.... banana was nice =) Coffee was BAD!!! and can u believe it.. there was actually a line up outside the Cafe!

So.. if your planning to have these sorts of desserts in HK - Dida - please have ur share in Syd first cos u won't find anything as good here in HK !!!

Lucky dinner & Lucky Apples !!!

I've been quite busy the last couple of days. Had a work annual spring dinner on the 1st March. I've never heard of spring dinner's before. Apparently, if you miss out on the spring dinner, you'll have bad luck the whole year. Apparently, if the company doesn't organise a spring dinner, the company will do bad the whole year. How supersticious is that ? And the funny thing is - our pommy director is a great believer. He's also a great believer of feng shui. I really wouldn't expect that from him. If someone didn't turn up to the dinner, and the company did bad, i think you'd be fired the next yr.. haha.. i think thats how serious he is about the whole thing. And thats why he had a really long and yummy menu.. hehehe =)
I went to City Super yesterday and saw these funky apples! At first i thought that they were for praying.. but they are edible!! haha.. i've never seen apples with writing on them. Apparently they put these labels on them while they grow so when they are big, it will show up on the apple !! hehe.. how cool is that ? These are all good words with lucky meanings.. i think! I only know one says "fart" meaning rich... but i dont know about the other words! hehehee =)

eighth, nineth, tenth, eleventh chance...

Ok... I think i've given my fair go of chances to banana breads here. Why can't they make theirs as good as back home ? I have a sudden urge to open up a banana bread shop or possibly to bake my own.

Today I went to "O" Cafe in Central for lunch with a Syd friend. She said, this place has the best coffee and banana breads in HK. Its a must try then, isn't it ? She said, the banana bread is the best.. better than Sydney, better than Chatty, better than Gloria Jeans.

So.. me having a huge grin on my face all morning, counts down for lunch.. =P

First bite.. dry... tasteless... flavourless...umm where's the banana? yeeeee.... BUT.. the coffee was great =) Another try off my list.

Now.. is it just me? Is my expectations too high? Am I too spoilt from having too much yummy coffees, cakes, desserts & sweets back home ? Or am I just going to the wrong places?

Checking my emails, came through to one which a friend sent to me. Just to make me jealous, just to annoy me.. just me make my craving for bb go up dramatically !! mmh.. yummy.. moist.. soft.. banary... sweet........aarrgggh ~ why don't they have these here?

G: Next time can you send me one from Gloria Jeans? hehe.. I like theirs better =)

My mission for bb continues....

Third week in HK

My furniture finally arrived !!! This is my bed =)

Living in Hong Kong, i've learnt the following lesson: Need to take a measuring tape when buying furniture. I've realised that there were so many things that i took for granted back home, reason: my mum bought everything. I'm now realising how much it costs to run a home, from buying furniture, to domestic stuff, to food. Thank goodness I didn't have to buy a table, or a fridge or a microwave =)

Due to me forgetting to bring a measuring tape, and me hoping to fit in this wardrobe in my bedroom, not realising how big it was.. i was WRONG!! so now, its ended in the living room, right next to the front door. behind the wardrobe, is the phone to let ppl in.. hehee =)

This table & TV sits opposite the wardrobe. Can you see the black chair ? It fits into the black table (theres 2 of those chairs) so the table can be made bigger. And those 2 pink chairs.... man... i don't know if i am that bad in putting things together, but me & my sis have tried to put the 4 poles together under the round bit but for some funny reason, everytime we lift up the chair, the four stands fall off.. mmh..... they are not sitable & not very stable. I thought that IKEA products were easy to put together??

Now.. off the topic abit.. my latest addiction - dark choc =) sweet and bitter... yummmmm !
After my testing of many different types .. these are my favourites!

And thanks to my beautiful sis - waiting for my furniture deliveries!!! ooh.... and her b'days on the same day as mine.. just many many years younger!!

I went to pick up my new HK ID card today and on the way home, went by Krispy Kreme. I soo miss my sydney sweets, my banana breads, my carrot cakes. Because of CNY, they have red bean doughnuts and they have this orange and mandarin one..abit scared to try.. i stuck to the original ones.. choc & colourful (hundred & thousand) like topping =)

my taro sago pudding !!!

I think i've finally settled in. This morning I had to wake up at 8am to be in Chai Wan at 10am to "bai lin". After that, my sis, my grandma and I went to my flat in Quarry Bay. Did abit of cleaning & tidying up for tomorrow is the day that my furniture ( bed & wardrobe) arrives!! =)

After cleaning up, went to have some lunch at De Coral Cafe and here I was, thinking that the only dessert I've had in chinese restaurants for after dinner is red bean "sa", almond "lo", and black sesame. All which I don't really like. I've had a craving for coconut sago pudding...
So... while i had 6 hours between now & dinner time ( cos we are going out to dinner for my cousins birthdays) I decided to make some taro sago pudding for my grandma!!
I had to admit, it was very very yummy ~ ho ho mei ar =)

And from the lounge room, the door next to the TV is the kitchen & the other door is the bedroom door.

one week of work in HK

I've gone through one week of work in HK now. It's seriously not as bad as what people made it out to be. ** touch wood **... waking up at 8am..(maybe i can wake up 30 mins later now since im 2 stops closer.. hehe) getting to work just before 10.. leaving at 7pm.. i think its not TOO bad. I am thankful that 50% of my work collegues are non-asians and the other 50% are the typical honkies. But i think working in a "qwai lo" environment have changed their attitudes to thinking & attitudes towards other collegues. No doubt, brand names fly around the office galore. Our operations manager came into the office with a diamond Rolex watch, Dior blouse & a Gucci bag. Whats with chinese & their name brands? I don't understand. It's not like the HK salary market is all that good.. or is it?

I've had a really good week, getting to know all my collegues and having my first client already!! Going into at least 2 training sessions a day and sometimes 4. My mind automatically changes when im talking to my Australian boss, and when I talk to our honkie receptionist. It's weird, but i think i've grasped this pretty quickly.

After staying in a teeeeny weeeny rooom for 2 weeks, I've finally moved into my new place in Quarry Bay. In the last couple of days, have made many trips into Pricerite & Ikea. Most.. 90% of my furniture is from Ikea. My aim is to go cheap until i decide whether i will stay here for a longer timeframe....mmh... Will update pics later ~

I'm 70% excited but them 30% nervous. Tonight will be the first time i'm staying at a place where i am not familiar, alll on my own. Thank God for internet access.. but with the 3 hr delay, all my lovely friends will be asleeeep when i log on =(

Here's to wish you all a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR. Wish you all good health, hapiness and success in the year of the GOLDEN PIG!! Take care guys ** hugs **

Day 1 of work

I've always worked 8am-5pm. I've even worked in jobs where I've worked 8.30am-4.40pm cos I needed to get my 4.50pm bus home. Today, the first time ever that I've stayed at work till 7.30pm!! Time went by amazing quickly, but I forgot to mention.. I started at 10am. hehee =)
Woke up at 8.30am, got into the office, set up my computer & email access which took 1 hr. Had a quick tour around the office again, re-met & re-introduced to collegues I've already met last Weds & Fri. Then went downstairs and had a 45 min coffee at Pacific Coffee with an Executive Manager. Then had lunch for 2 hrs with Pete, and the EM. Went back to the office (this was about 2ish..).. had a generic product training for 1 hour, then a 1 hour break, then another training from 5-7pm. My day went by sooo quickly I didnt even realise it was time to go home! hehehe =)

On another note: Thanks for telling me the good news!! I am very happy =)

1st week in HK

I've been in and out for as many "non chinese" cafe's I can find, and no.. I can't find a piece of banana bread or carrot cake!!

But...On Friday night, I was invited to my new works conference & annual dinner. The dinner was a fancy dress party (theme - Indian & Cowboys) at Bea's Clubhouse in Sherng Sui. I met all of my collegues and their partners. We all dressed up, had a really nice buffet dinner ** with yummy dessert (strawberry fondeau, coconut sago pudding & custard slice.. which I had 2 pieces!! hehe ) Here is a pic taken with one of the directors at my new workplace =) It was a great day!

Today I went shopping in Causeway Bay with my sis. I went to Pacific Coffee & guess who I saw? HIM! hehhee =) My sis & I played sissors, paper, rock to see who was going to go and ask him for his autograph. Guess who lost? mmmh.. me =(

This was our conversation:

D: Ummh.. excuse me? I live in Sydney and I really like watching your series... the Loon Yun one? Can i have your autograph? ** shy cos i couldn't remember the full name of the series !! hehee

Cheng Ka Weng: Sure, if you don't mind it's not very good (cos his right hand was bandaged (which he smartly hid behind the chair).

D: No problem la ~ Um.. gum can i have a pic with you too?

Cheng Ka Weng: OK ar.. no probs !

D: ** big smile & quickly grabbed my phone to take this pic! hehe

Missing Home

I'm missing home already like crazy.. miss my family, miss my wonderful friends, miss the nice clear fresh air, miss my car... miss everything about my home!!!

Just a quick update for my friends to what i've been up to these last couple of days..
1. eating. 2. shopping. 3. sleeping. 4. walking. 5. Plenty of walking... =)

Today I went into my new work office in Central. Met the director that employed me.. and met the Aussie director that I will be working with. He took my friend, a lawyer that will be helping me with tax and investment rules offshore and I to a Yacht Club in Wan Chai for a nice lunch. It was sooo nice. The weather was so nice.. nice and sunny, and sitting beside the water brang back warm feelings of home.

One thing that makes me suprised is that yesterday and today, the weather has been between 18-24 degrees. Me, being very sensitive to cold was walking around in t-shirt and jeans. BUT 98% of the people here wear skivvies, thick wolly jumpers and big thick jackets around... they stare at me like im some kind of alien... hahahaa =)

mmh... i think i'm already homesick.....

I have many good friends. Friends that support me through the roughest times of my life, through the sadest times and also here to share the happy dilly times!
5 days more to go till I go through a new adventure. As much as I know my family & friends will miss me, i know they are supporting me 110% all the way !!
Last night my mummy cooked me a nice home cooked dinner =) My favourite coconut chicken soup and lots of yummy tasty dishes !!

18 days left...

18 days left while i'm in Sydney. I should utilise my time efficiently. Spending time with my closest friends, spending time with my family, taking many many snaps to remember my last days in Sydney before I take the leap to HK. Just thinking about it makes me sad. Definitely excited, but also worried how I would adapt there. Had a family dinner tonight with my Aunt and cousins. My cousin gave me a journal. Very useful...i'll be sure to use it and detail every bit of this experience. Took a very happy snap with my mum & ashleigh =)

15/16

It's when I have to make an important decision, that I wish that YOU were here to guide me in the right direction. Whether I should take this chance or not take it.

I was pretty sure that I wanted to go ahead and make this move, but today, after shedding tears while talking to my best friend K, when I finished talking to her, in the late afternoon and when I was taking a shower tonight, reading a friendster testimonial, and whilst I am typing this, I question myself, is this the right thing to do. I know I want to, I know I want to take this opportunity, I know it will work out. I know this is a great opportunity I don't want to miss.

I have asked many opinions from my mum, my brother, my relatives and my special friends. I've gotten too much advice thats made my mind run wild. I just want some quite time to think about what I want and whether this is the best thing for me.

I can already see my emotional fluctuations. This morning, i was excited, ready to pack my bags, tonight i dont want to leave. I want to stay here with my family and friends. In this house. In my room. With my car. With my furniture. I can already feel my emotions go up and down. I know I will be like this for the next couple of months. I have alot of questions that I have running in my head and the more ppl talk about this, the more pressure I feel I have. I feel like i'm strangled. I feel like I can't breathe. I do understand that it's because you all care for me and wish the best for me...but I think now, I need my space. I think that's what I need now.

Personal Ethics

It's not often i get told that I am immature, always depressed, cancels on important meetings, acting stupidly, rude, selfish. No doubt, it hurts, it really hurts to be told i'm something i have never thought myself to be. Nor has my best friend or any of my closest friends ever told me I am this.

I must admit, I can or may have carried some of the above in the past, or presently, but I don't believe it's to the extent that someone needs to SMS it to me to tell me that. I think everyone has certain levels of immaturity, sadness, happiness, or being rude and selfish and its to what extent your friends and family can or cannot accept. It also depends on who the opponent is.

In many experiences I have had with certain friends, i've found that the ones that tell you "hey, you look really tired and drawn out today.." are the people who are feeling tired and drawn out themselves. The people that ask you "How come you can be so casual to work?" when you are wearing a smart Cue suit are the ones who are wearing a 3/4 length pants with a casual top to work.

I wonder if this is the same reason for the SMS as what i have experienced before?

I try my very best to maintain personal ethics. Having my own set of values and principles that I live by. Reading a couple of Ethical Decison Making Models, Rion (1991), Langenderfer & Rockness (1990), Guy (1990), Hall (1993) and Hodgson (1992), I realised that my own values and principles are based on a combination of Guy (1990) and Hodgson (1992).
This being caring, honest, respecting others, integrity, fairness, loyalty, keeping promise and pursuit of excellence.
I do need to repeat myself, i do try my very best to maintain this, but like everyone else, i'm just another human being and there are always times where i might fail. But does times like that need to be told to me like the way it did?

Do i need to explain myself ? No.. i've been told, i dont need to explain myself and if thats what they think, let it be. Who cares!

On another note: a VERY BIG THANK YOU to K for inviting us and sharing her house with us. A beautiful & uncrowded view of the fireworks from her lounge room! Driving back from K's at 5.45am in the morning, C & I saw the first sunrise in 2007 and a beautiful rainbow to compliment it ~ Because both our camera batteries had died on us, we were lucky enough to turn our camera on and take one, and only one shot - Here's a car shot to prove it !! hehe =)

Reflections

Christmas, New Years and upcoming birthdays are happy and joyful things to celebrate. Plenty of smiles and lots of laughter. Lots of hugs and kisses from my closest friends. This is the time I feel fake. Lots of smiling, laughter, cheer and jokes covering the bottom of my heart which is twisted with pain and cry. Every now and again, the brick on my heart will drop. But when i'm back in my own all four walls, I feel the heaviness again. Everytime, this time of the year approaches, sleepless nights prop up again. Thoughts and clear pictures run around my head of an event that happened 4 yrs ago. One event that i will never forget. I remember the first year, I said to my best friend " I can't believe one year has already gone by, it just felt like yesterday..." Year by year, I say the same thing. And without fail, i'm saying the same thing this year. Images are 110% clear. Relatives and friends that came and left I cannot forget. The weather, temperature, the breakfasts, the dinners, the smell, the atmosphere, the words being said and the feeling I cannot forget. The feeling of sadness in my heart will always be there, but this is the time that the images are most clear, that i am the most emotional. I hope to never forget, I hope my memory does not fade. But I also hope that one year, this time, i can honestly and openly say that I am happy and truely happy. I don't know when and how long this is going to be, i don't wish it happen straight away, but maybe, just maybe one day...

a stressful morning

I just don't understand why some people just like leaving things till the very last minute. I must admit, i'm not a very organised person myself, but I try to have myself organised as much as I can.

Knowing that your flight departed at Sydney International Airport to go to HK at 3pm, knowing travelling time was at least 1 hr from your house to the airport & your flight could be full, would you:

1. Organise cleaners to come to your house at 9am in the morning?
2. Go and get money out of the bank?
3. Pack 10kgs abalone into freeze proof boxes.
4. Go and pick up your new glasses - which you could of picked up when you got back because you were only going to be away for 10 days and not to mention, you had a pair that was perfectly alright to use.
5. Organise me to go for an eye test - which somehow couldn't of been done any other day ?
6. Go to the fruit shop and buy white peaches as a gift - not to mention, whether the gift was going to white peaches or honey coated nuts was still not decided..AND if organise for the white peaches to fit in a box & strap the box so it can be carried easily.
7. Go into Woolies to get oats - which you knew you had to get a month ago..
And not to mention.... you had a day off on Monday - where you could of done all these things ! I perfectly understand that some of those points above could only be done in the morning, but clearly, alot of those points could have been done at another time, if not earlier.

As you can see, I had a pretty stressful morning. I met up with my 2 beautiful girlfriends for a nice "Espresso & Milk Chocolate Frappe" only bcos they both happened to be sick at around Midday heheee =) Then looking at those fresh ripe red strawberrys & milk chocolate on the table made me forget everything that happened in the morning * not to mention B got me a bunch of beautiful sweet smelling pink roses!

Thanks B for the roses =) They're beautiful, just like you!

missing you

I bumped into some friends I haven't seen in quite some time on the weekend. It brought back memories of the times we used to spend together. The gatherings that we had, the dinners we use to have and those nights we use to just hang out and watch dvds. We kinda lost the contact and the friendship due to some little misunderstandings.
It's a shame, but what can be done?

bored....

Here i am, sitting in the office - megarly bored.. reading blogs, surfing the net, writing emails, checking out friendster, looking at old pics ... doing everything BUT what I should be doing. Twiddling my thumbs and realising that theres only about 5 more weeks till the end of the year.

Then I think back and wonder what has happened this year.

1. I've met alot of new great friends and formed great friendship.
2. I've finished my DFP.
3. I've enrolled in my CFP.
4. Taken up 2 new sports this year and loving it !! ( indoor rock climbing & badminton )
5. Improved my families relationship.
6. Have had my patience, understanding level and analysing skills tested.
7. Realised that I still have a barrier (or a wall) that i haven't been able to cross yet. I think with time, i'll be able to cross it.....

ooh... and how can i forget, my new car !! hehehee

mmh... Just 7? There must be more... but I cant think of it from the top of my head right now. Had a really late night last night catching up with my high school friends, as two dear friends J & J had come back from overseas. J1 to visit and J2 - i thought was coming back permanently but only to find out last night that he was going to work in HK in March next yr.

Funny enough, I was only talking to another friend C on the weekend discussing the possibilities of relocating to HK next year. mmh.. just a thought... =)

the red carpet

I went to Borats movie premiere last night with D in the George St Cinemas. For the first time in my life, walked down the red carpet entrance into the cinemas! There was loads of people on both sides of the red carpet, and about 6 cameras facing us - but of cos, not taking pictures of us! hahhaa =)

I was pretty nervous simply because there was soooo many people looking at us! But, we both gave huge smiles, lifted our heads up and walked right down to the end !
Definitely a great experience and a fantastic night ! Thanks D!

Borat is an excellent movie. Laughs right from the beginning to the end. Definitely worth watching !!!

Neverending concerns

What do you do when one and two doesn't listen ?

How do you let down your fustrations when you don't agree on what they are doing? You've expressed your concern, but they still think they are right. What if its affecting their health and lifestyle? What if it can harm them?

You really really want to help, but you can't.

The funny thing is, one agrees with me and doesnt agree on what two is doing. Two agrees with me and doesnt agree on what one is doing.

But they both don't look at themselves to see if they have made the right decisions on what THEY should be doing and they both don't discuss with each other what they are doing. So how is the middle person, me, suppose to help?

i tried

The first time i've donated blood. Sitting in the Red Cross building in Chatswood - it suprised me. I was imagining a unclean place but it was new and spotless. Gave me a very good first impression. Ive always had doubts about donating blood..heard so many bad/unpleasant stories but i took up the courage & went today.

We booked in for 2.30pm with 2 of my other collegues, we sat and waiting for 40 mins. They went through a questionnaire, asking ALOT of questions about health, holidays etc. Then they did a haemoglobin test. I was low. But the nurse said, maybe its just today, so we still decided to go ahead with taking the blood.

They sat me on a nice comfy chair that swang backwards, moved up, leg rest. Mega comfy. Cleaned the area ... and stuck the needle in my arm!! Painful - yes.. it hurt and stung a bit. I needed to donate 470ml's of blood - but it stopped at 178ml's.
As instructed, i was pumping the rubber ball every 5-10 seconds. The machine beeeped and it just stopped. My blood stopped flowing out !

The kind & friendly nurses came.. looked and played with the machine, and said thats all they can take out today. They removed the needle, wrapped my arm up..gave me a BIG yummy choc milkshake and a bagful of goodies with a YUMMY mars bar! hehee =)

I tried.....
anyone else that wants to try.. go to www.donateblood.com.au
its all for a good cause !!!

It proves again that time flies when your having a great time. We didn't even realise we'd been talking for 3 hrs !! If it wasn't for the parking meter, I don't think we would of stopped talking! Thanks for a fantastic night! We should do it more often !!

A totally fantastic musical !!!! I went last night to watch They Boy from Oz presented by Hugh Jackman with my workmates last night. We got A Reserve seats on the right hand side of the stage. Excellent seats. Its the first time I have been to one of these musicals, held at the entertainment centre.

The show went for 3 hrs~ beautiful lighting and lots of beautiful dancing and really really pretty costumes!!! Its amazing how Hugh Jackmans voice and songs can make you soooo happy and smiling from one song to being sad and wanting to cry on the next. It was sensational.
Highly highly recommended !

100+ days to gain, and just one to lose

I often ask myself the question " how can i trust a person?, how many people in this world do i truly trust from the bottom of my heart?" I can only answer, not many.

Trust takes so much time to gain in a relationship.. so easy to lose, but how does one gain it back? Is it the issue of person A or person B? How do you let go of the barrier to trust ?
Even the smallest incidents will bring 101 questions to fly through my little brain - not a good thing.

Is it because mentally im scared to get hurt again, so i dont want to trust? Or is it because one incident of lost trust has thrown everything down the water. Or is it as one of my friends said, lack of self confidence? A mixture of all?

I can honestly say that there was one person in my life that I can no doubt say I trusted 110%. (This of course, is besides my family and my dearest best friend K). It took many ups and downs to build that trust and three and a half long years of friendship. Out of that friendship, I learnt that the more you trust a person, the more confident you are in what they say, but what if one day, they hurt you so much, that you can't trust that person again, or any other person for that matter?

What would you do then? ....

Show me the cheap skate

I went to dinner on Friday night with a friend at a Thai restaurant in Parramatta. It was on the street off church street, near the back carpark. It's a small tiny restuarant. There wasn't many people there, just 4 tables of 2 ppl.

You know the ladies that come around selling flowers? In 30 mins of us being there, 2 different ladies had come into the restaurant to sell flowers. This is a perfectly normal thing to happen. right? We have all experienced this some time or another.

One table of 2 - a guy & im guessing its his girlfriend complained. The tall blond long hair, checked shirt, scruffy look guy walked up to the tiny thai male owner (in his late 50's) and complained about the flower ladies. He shouted at the male owner and said "Why do you let these people come in? Do you recv some sort of commission? " He was whinging and complaining that it wrecked his dinner, wrecked his mood. He complained how dissappointed he was, and he was never going to come back to this thai rest. He goes on to complain how he was enjoying the dinner until the flower ladies had come in to sell flowers. Then he said " Im not paying for this sad meal. " The poor little thai boss didnt know what to say. he was in so much shock. The guy walked back to his girlfriend and said " This meal is now free!" ... what a d**khead! Throughout this time, this poor girl had her head down.. so embarressed, she didnt want to look at anyone ~

It suprises me that there is still people like that out there (im sure theres heaps more, but its definitely the first time i have seen something like that happen).. that does stupid things like this to score a free meal.

What could the boss do? call the police? over a probably $30 meal? He let them go... Everyone in the resturant was so understanding. The boss came around and apologised for the "scene". The guy walked out like he had just won the lotto.
Everyone else was just looking at each other.. thinking how stupid and slack is this guy....

So many weird crazy stupid people out there.. if u cant afford to go out and eat, eat at home~ felt so sorry for this girlfriend of his...

Perfect ?

What consitutes to a perfect marriage? or a perfect relationship for that matter. Is there such word as perfect ?
I knew it didn't happen often but i thought from the bottom of my heart that one of my collegues had the perfect family. He was the typical "best" dad and typical "best" husband. someone that does everything and never complain. whether it be waking up in the middle of the night bcos the kids sick, or going home to cook dinner for her & doing household duties etc. we all heard her once say, "i wont be able to find anyone better than him." Even though he & her had complete opposite personalities, they both compromised. if you wanted a ideal example of "opposites attract" i'd tell you them. he accepted her and she accepted him. he sacraficed so much for her. they knew each other so well, and we all thought that they were the happiest family. 3 young kids. bbq's. family picnics. spending time with the kids making cakes together and sharing them with all of us here the next day. very happy. i met her at our conference and xmas party last year. we all bought presents for the kids. they were a beautiful couple. a beautiful & happy family. from the way they looked at each other, i could so remember how in love they looked. when they were eating. when they talked. when they danced. but the news was shared amongst us - they are spitting. shivers went down my spine. tears came up to my eyes. i felt goosebumps. nervous. sadness. emotions ~ not only me, but everyone in the office felt the same way. it feels gloomy, so quiet. no liveliness in the office today. its amazing how one collegues personal life could affect us all here, we're like a little family.
we were all supportive of him. he's voice trembled when he told us. he was close to tears. he said they both havent been happy in the last couple of yrs and have tried hard to make it work. they have been talking about seperating for the last 2 months. no one in the office noticed anything different about him. he worked the same. he was the same nice, friendly, helpful collegue as he use to. we could tell no emotion. ~ makes me think ~ sometimes what we see on the outside really may not be what happens behind closed doors ~

External Beauty - Olive Oil ~

Recommended by my friend (pt) i've started to use Olive Oil as my night time moisturiser and eye gel ! Trust me.. it's good & it works!! It nourishes the skin & makes it really nice & soft !

Olive oil is very rich in Vitamin K (which is known to build collagen), Vitamin E (high in anti-oxidant), Vitamin A, and other vitamins. It also contains both types of polyunsaturated fat - Omega 3 and Omega 6 which is the right source of fatty acid for our body and skin. Since olive oil is close to our body natural oil, applying it on our skin won't clog pores, but letting it breath. Below are some expecting results from using olive oil on skin:

It is close to human body oil so it helps balance the oil produced on the skin (face). Dry skin will be moisturised. This is the same and will happen to oily skin. Dehydrating skin (i.e. not enough water, not oil) sends message to the brain to naturally produce more oil to the skin to make it 'moist', this is why some people have oily skin yet still dry. By applying olive oil the skin senses that it's needless to produce more oil which leads to a balance.

It doesn't clog pores as it is close to our body oil. In fact, it helps soften the pores and loosen out the dirt in the pores such as blackheads, whiteheads and milia under the eyes, which then leads to small pores.

Helps maintain skin flexibility (with collegen building), prevent/ reduce wrinkles and fades stretch marks (with anti-oxidant), and prolong aging of skin.

You can apply a thin layer every day and night evenly on the whole face, around eyes, lips and neck. In day time apply sunscreen on top. You can even add a couple of drops when you take a bath or apply it to your skin after a shower. It is the best to use extra virgin olive oil as it is non-processed and non-refined.

Compared with the prices of "cosmetic" products out there, a bottle of olive oil cost between $5 - $10 and can last a very long time !!

~~ thanks pt, i really like it ~ its good !!
