My Red Date

My yummy red date water ~~!!

The Realistic World

When you become friends with someone, does what they do as a job matter? So what if your high school friends didn't go and do further education after high school eg. University or Masters degree. Why would you think less of them if they were a good friend? Does it matter that they are happily satisfied with a HK$10,000 per month paying job?

Does it matter if certain topics don't interest you? Every one has different interests and not everyones interest, interests the other person. Why can't they share the insight of those experiences with you and vice versa?

Just because you had more studies than some, does it make you naturally think less of others, or perhaps, think down of them. I don't believe so.

I hope that me having a dip in the realistic world of Hong Kong doesn't make me turn out into someone who thinks like that. I don't want to be someone who places grades on people on how much they earn, what they do and what their education background is. It certainly fustrates me to know " a friend " thinks that certain way. I know I cannot change the way that person thinks, but I can definitely control myself from not thinking that way.

V-I-V

I'm so excited! In one more week, I have a VIV - very important vistior coming to visit me from Sydney! Staying for 3 weeks, I wish she can stay here permanently with me! I miss her ever so dearly. It will be so good to spend quality time together.

I can't believe how quickly time is flying. I already have my Sydney friends telling me their schedules to come to HK. Having 4 coming in August, a possible post wedding dinner, some in October, November and Decemeber - and my dear K - booked for the 18th of Feb 08. I can't wait!!

My Palmistry Experience

Somethings happened with my blog and for some reason, I can't add a title to my blog entries. Have to work this out somehow.

Anyways, I went to see a Chinese fortune teller last week, Mr Yeung, recommended by Dee's sister. He wrote on a piece of paper in chinese after giving him my chinese name, date and time of birth. He scrolls for about 30 mins, then talks for another 30 mins. The things he was right was my personality and a couple of other things. However, I question how right he is about my future. Are fortune tellers believable? [99% tell me not - my intellegence tells me not. hehee =)]

It's fun to go and see and hear what they come up with about my future, health, career and relationships - I'm glad I'm not a great believer and I don't take what they say to heart. If I did, I think I'd be tooo busy thinking about every little thing or every person that comes across in my life.

Jaclyn's beautiful baby girl !!

Borned on 7-7-07, weighing 7 pounds and born on the 7th hour!!! =)

The first time going to a hospital in Hong Kong was definitely an experience for me. I caught the MTR to Kowloon Tong and wanted to go to the Kowloon Tong Baptist Hospital. Thought jumping into a cab was the easiest way for me to get there. I was totally wrong!!!

I had to get in and out of THREE cabs - because the driver didn't know what the "Baptist" hospital was. And did I know what it was in chinese? NO.. so i had to get out of the first cab, ring my cousin to ask her what the chinese name was, she didn't pick up, so my second attempt - get into the cab behind. "Kowloon Tong Baptist Hospital ar" and the driver goes " mut yeh hospital?". I'm saying the private hospital lair.. the "see ga yee yuen".."the nearest hospital perhaps?"... He has no idea what I am talking about. In the meantime, my cousin still hasn't called me back. "Go to the cab behind me and see if he knows what you are talking about" he tells me. Meanwhile, there's 10+ people waiting in line for cabs. So I get out of this second cab, then make my way to the next, people are now starting to look at me very strangely. "Kowloon Tong Baptist Hospital ar"... "mut yeh hospital ar?" - thank goodness at this time, my mobile rings and it's my cousin!!! She told me word for word - which I repeated to the driver. (I have now forgotten)

Even though I had "abit" of a taxi challenge =), i finally managed to get there in time to see the BB. Unfortunately, I could only view her through a glass window. Hopefully will be able to hold in her a couple of days when she goes home!!!

The Peak

Today is the first time i've been to The Peak this visit to Hong Kong. It is also the first time in HK in the last 4 months that i've seen so many greens as well as a waterfall. It reminds me of the Blue Mountain walks I used to do. We did a really nice walk and the weather was perfect for it. No sun, no rain. A nice cool breeze!!! It was really nice and I managed to get some nice clear pics and smell the fresh tree smells. I miss miss miss !!!

Today is the 1st July - HK Establishment Day, so there are heaps of people on the streets and road closures from Causeway Bay to Central for celebrations. My safest bet was to watch the fireworks at home rather than being squashed in between the many many people on the streets!

Happy Birthday !!

Wishing a very happy birthday to a very special person! I hope you like the present and you have a very happy year ahead. All the best in Zhu Hoi!
